<reviewbody>T1mp (USA) and sickmoth (UK) were having a chat back in February (could have been earlier) about each other's styles, and we just decided to give it a go. So Timmypoos said he had a few tracks that were just hanging about doing nothing, and he sent me a fairly sparse beat to add to. The file name was 'Madhatter'. So I followed the usual moth formula of throwing lots of stuff at it and sent it back it Timbo, who did some more to it, and then back to me, and so on...

With 'Mad Hatter' we knew we were on to something cool, so we decided to have another go, maybe even make an EP. 'Sickness' happened because Timmypants had a beat together with an odd melody, and he wanted to hear some vox on it, so I gave it a go, adding some guitar and such, then he worked his usual magic after that, and then we created the end section to round it up a bit.

'Irrational anthem' was all out of a 1.5 minute didge track that Timmypants performed, along with some djembe taps. As soon as I heard the didge, I knew it had to be full-on other-worldly, so went for that. Next was 5330, which is the distance in miles between us (aaaahhh), which is a reworking of a few samples from my guitar epic, 'Life by cat'. While Timmy was working on that, I was doing 'Turbulence', which essentially I wanted to round off the EP and fit with the kind of organic feel to the whole thing.

... and that was that. My scattered ideas and Tim's precise production. We knew this was good stuff and couldn't wait to get it out there. He came up with a few cover ideas, we discussed, and settled on one.

This was a true collaboration in that we truly worked together on this. Discussed ideas, time scales, stayed up late to finish rough mixes and send them to each other, all that.

We've already got some ideas for the next EP, and as I have decided to retire sickmoth for the foreseeable future, I'll devote all my time to that.

Of course I give it five stars. So there.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>This is a seriously great EP, both of you should be proud to have made this. You've managed to take Tim's tight production and moth's erratic genius and combined to create something that is genuinely greater than the sum of the parts.
